How Much Does It Cost?
As compared to the other European countries, the cost of living is less. It is approximately 800 Euros to 950 Euros and varies depending upon the location. The accommodation charges do not exceed 400 Euros on an average. In the capital city of Austria, Vienna, the cost of living is high. The cost of education in public universities of Austria cost up to 1450 Euro per year for international students. The tuition fees in private universities start from 7000 Euros and goes up to 15,000 Euros per year.
Visa for students
To enter in Austria, foreign nationals of a few countries require a visa. For a stay of three to six months, a student should possess visa D. A visa C individual cannot stay more than 3 months whereas a residence permit is necessary if a non-EU student is staying in Austria for more than 6 months. Higher education abroad is an expensive idea that may cost you more than you imagine. But not to worry!
Most international students balance expenses by working during holidays. There are work permits granted to them under certain circumstances and eligibility criteria. A non-EU student with a valid residence permit can work for a maximum of 20 hours a week.
